Sentinel of the Cascades

Known as the "Lightning Rod of the Cascades," Mount Thielsen rises sharply above Oregon's forests, its unmistakable summit piercing the sky. Framed by towering evergreens and drifting clouds, this photograph captures the mountain's rugged character and enduring solitude. Mount Thielsen has watched over the Cascades for thousands of years. Its jagged volcanic summit reaches toward the sky while clouds gather and drift around its shoulders, creating a scene that feels both powerful and peaceful. This is one of our most summitted mountains together.
